Key Black Community Leaders Commit to Crusade to Confront Crisis

The following is being released by the Children's Defense Fund:

What:  On Thursday, January 13, leaders of the Children's Defense Fund and the Black Community Crusade for Children (BCCC) will release two studies showing the crisis facing America's Black children today. A Hart Research Associates report shows a vast majority of America's Black community, seven in 10 adults, view these as tough or very bad times for Black children, and see poor and disenfranchised Black youth falling further and further behind. A study by the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University shows the devastating employment environment for Black youth. Marian Wright Edelmanand Geoffrey Canada will announce the goals and commitments of BCCC II with other key Black leaders representing millions of Black stakeholders on Thursday, January 13th, 2011 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.  Results of research will be presented and both studies will be released.
