EMI gospel recording artist, VaShawn Mitchell is a two-time Grammy nominated, six-time Stellar award winner, composer, philanthropist, motivational speaker and founder of The Norman Youth Arts Foundation.

With the release of his latest CD "Created 4 This," Mitchell will partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Brothers in Action to nationally recruit more African American men to become mentors and strengthen their communities.  Mentoring Brothers in Action is a movement formed in collaboration with the nation's three largest African American fraternities, Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi and Omega Psi Phi, to engage more Black men to get involved in one-to-one mentoring to change the odds for African American boys.

McDonald's USA today announced multi-award winning gospel artist Fred Hammond will headline the 2012 McDonald's Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour, an annual summer concert series the company pioneered as a way to bring positive, uplifting messages and entertainment to communities nationwide. The nine-city tour kicks off May 12 and runs through June 30, and will also feature special guest Byron Cage,21:03Canton JonesJ MossMyron Butler and VaShawn Mitchell.

Historic Gospel Tour to Hit Major Venues this Fall

Four of the most successful performers in gospel music history, Kirk FranklinMarvin SappDonnie McClurkin and Israel Houghton, announce today that they will share the same stage for the very first time when they embark on The King's Men concert tour this fall.  The historic U.S. tour will hit major venues in 15 U.S. cities beginning on Sunday, September 16th at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, and culminating in Brooklyn, NY, at Barclays Center on Sunday, October 14th.

Music World Gospel is #5 on the Gospel Album Labels Chart in Billboard's Year-End Issue

As we celebrate the holiday season and approach the end of the year, Mathew Knowles' Music World Gospel dominates Billboard's Top Gospel Album chart, holding the #1, # 2, #10, #29 and #50 positions this week.  Amber Bullock's debut project, Thank You, entered at #1, and GRAMMY® nominee Le'Andria Johnson's The Awakening of Le'Andria Johnson, which spent eight weeks at #1, holds at #2 for six weeks. Le'Andria's holiday CD, Christmas Best, holds at #10. Label mate and this year's GRAMMY nominee Trin-i-tee 5:7's current CD, Angel & Chanelle, maintains its position at #29 after spending 28 weeks on the charts. And Interface Entertainment/Music World Gospel worship leader Micah Stampley's One Voice lands at #50. "The label has had a banner year," said Mathew Knowles, founder, President and CEO of Music World Gospel. "We have demonstrated significant growth and had several major artist signings this year. In 2012, we are expanding the label's release schedule to include over 45 new releases. We have other faith-based acquisitions that we will be announcing in the coming months." This year, Music World Gospel experienced a 115 plus percent revenue increase from 2010, and the label moved to the Top 5 on the Gospel Album Labels chart from #9 in 2010 on Billboard's Year-End charts.
