SHABACH! Ministries inc.’s “Community Outreach Day -Empowering Communities Through Unity” SHABACH! Ministries, Inc. Offers free groceries, school supplies, clothing, housewares, toys(while supplies last) to be given away.
SHABACH! Ministries, Inc. (SMI), the 501(c) (3) arm of First Baptist Church of Glenarden, is holding a Community Outreach Day on Saturday, September 10, from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at 3600 Brightseat Road in Landover, Md. These give-aways are part of a series of events occurring this year as we celebrate SHABACH!’s 15th Anniversary of service to Prince George’s County, Maryland. This year’s theme is “Empowering Communities Through Unity”.
“SHABACH! is dedicated to `Empowering People to Build Dynamic Communities’ and its upcoming Community Day is an outreach effort to all residents of Prince George’s County and neighboring counties.” said SMI President, Cynthia Terry. “Everyone is invited to join with SHABACH! in sharing the blessings of our Ministries.” An increasing number of emergency centers and pantries doors have closed throughout the Prince George’s County and Metropolitan Washington area due to our region’s economic state. However, because of the mercies of God, the SHABACH! Empowerment Center continues to grow and flourish. In 2010, the Empowerment Center gave away over 300,000 pounds of food to those in need and those numbers will rise for 2011.
