NAACP Executive and President of Maryland Family Alliance square off on discussion of faith and politics.

Recently, Dr. Derek Grier, Senior Pastor of Grace Church in Dumfries, VA announced the re-launch of Both Sides Magazine and the launch of the Both Sides Forum Series.  The web-based magazine and the live forum tackle hot-button issues of the day while giving people the opportunity to think through how their positions line up with their faith.

Celebrating Black History Month @THEARC

THEARC Theater will hold two showings of “Harriet Tubman: The Chosen One,” on February 14th, 2013 at 10:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-2:00 p.m. in honor of Black History month. The 45-minute show will be performed by one woman, Gwendolyn Briley-Strand, who will transform into over a dozen characters while taking the audience on one of the nineteen journeys Harriet Tubman traveled through The Underground Railroad. Ms. Strand is an expert on the life of Harriet Tubman and has performed this play since 1993 in many schools, universities and organizations throughout the United States.
