Prince George's County Women's Fair(Press Release) The Prince George’s County Women’s Fair planning committee commemorates Women’s History Month with the 2010 Prince George’s County Women’s Fair. The Women’s Fair will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2010. The Fair will be held at Prince George’s Community College, Largo, MD in the Largo Student Center. This year’s theme is “Conquering the Chaos – Women Meeting the Challenge.” Vice President of Communications and Community Relations of the Washington Nationals Baseball club and county resident Chartese Burnett is the keynote speaker. First Lady of Prince George’s County, Leslie Johnson, is the honorary chairperson.

“This is an opportunity to showcase local sheroes blazing trails, conquering doubt, and achieving goals through their everyday living and interaction,” said Dr. Heather Harding, Prince George’s County Women’s Fair planning committee co-chairperson. “The Women’s Fair is uniquely positioned to provide women the tools to properly manage the bumps, uncertainty, and problems along the journey to success and to effectively recreate their own herstory.”

Breakout sessions on Managing Your Financial Well-being, Entrepreneurial Spirit – Steps to Success, Healthy Living, Spotlight on Education, and Going Green – Environmentally Friendly Home Living and Improvement will be conducted by local experts. Additionally, a “Judgment Free Teen Zone” teens’ only workshop will highlight issues of self-esteem and self worth and provide life skills training for young women.

Exhibitors displaying products and services of interest to women in Prince George’s County will be available to provide valuable information. Proceeds from the Women’s Fair benefit the Prince George’s County Women’s Fair Scholarship recognizing adult women attending Prince George’s Community College. More information about the Women’s Fair is available online at http://www.pgcwomensfair.org.
