2010 Prince
George's County Women's Fair Celebrates Women’s
History Month

Release) The Prince George’s
County Women’s Fair planning committee commemorates Women’s
History Month with the 2010 Prince George’s County Women’s
Fair. The Women’s Fair will take place on Saturday, March
6, 2010. The Fair will be held at Prince George’s Community
College, Largo, MD in the Largo Student Center. This year’s
theme is “Conquering the Chaos – Women Meeting the
Challenge.” Vice President of Communications and Community
Relations of the Washington Nationals Baseball club and county
resident Chartese Burnett is the keynote speaker. First Lady
of Prince George’s County, Leslie Johnson, is the honorary
chairperson.
“This is an opportunity to showcase local sheroes blazing
trails, conquering doubt, and achieving goals through their everyday
living and interaction,” said Dr. Heather Harding, Prince
George’s County Women’s Fair planning committee co-chairperson. “The
Women’s Fair is uniquely positioned to provide women the
tools to properly manage the bumps, uncertainty, and problems
along the journey to success and to effectively recreate their
own herstory.”
Breakout
sessions on Managing Your Financial Well-being, Entrepreneurial
Spirit – Steps to Success,
Healthy Living, Spotlight on Education, and Going Green – Environmentally
Friendly Home Living and Improvement will be conducted by local
experts. Additionally, a “Judgment Free Teen Zone” teens’ only
workshop will highlight issues of self-esteem and self worth
and provide life skills training for young women.
Exhibitors
displaying products and services of interest to women in Prince
George’s County will be available to provide
valuable information. Proceeds from the Women’s Fair benefit
the Prince George’s County Women’s Fair Scholarship
recognizing adult women attending Prince George’s Community
